Sandalwood, a local, privately owned long term care facility in Wheat Ridge is searching for a full - time cook.
The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing and serving food including texture modified and therapeutic diets according to facility menu. The Cook assists in assuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures are followed. Successful candidate must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations, including the ability to handle resident/guest objections and disputes to satisfactory results and effective problem solving.

Education, training, experience:

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
This future team member will possess the following requirements:
- General knowledge of cooking and dietary restrictions/needs.
- Familiarity of Long Term Care Residents.
- 1-year cook experience in a Long Term Care or Hospital Facility or similar environment.
- Ability to prepare large quantities of food following recipes while preserving flavor, nutritional value, and attractiveness.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
- Knowledge of basic concepts of nutrition and diet management for regular, texture modified, and therapeutic diets.
